Center and Community Based Services

Are services right for you?

What will services look like?

What will services look like?

If your child's behaviors are interfering with your ability to enjoy family outings, be in the community, or simply get through daily routines, contact us.

Many behaviors are typical within a certain age range. Monarch consultants can help you determine if your child's behaviors are age appropriate or not, and can give you tools to reduce the frequency and the intensity of those concerning behaviors.

If you have concerns about any of the following areas, we can help:

  • Tantrums
  • Sleep disruption
  • Feeding difficulties
  • Aggression
  • Self-Injurious behaviors
  • Self-care and/or toileting needs, including toilet training
  • Difficulty finding  and connecting with similar peers, making friends, or playing with others
  • Difficulty transitioning from one environment or activity to another
  • Difficulty transitioning from one topic to another
  • Independence and self-advocacy
  • Difficulty communicating wants, needs, or emotions

Note that our goal is to provide behavioral support that increases safety, life-skills, and self-advocacy. Unlike some outdated applications of ABA, we do not practice an ABA model grounded in "treating" neurodivergence or implement programs designed solely for the purpose of masking one's neurodivergence.

Service programs vary and are individualized, depending on your child's needs and your family's priorities. Monarch staff will work directly with your child at our Intervention Center in downtown Atascadero. Families may also schedule home visits with one of our consultant level team members, as needed.  All programs are overseen by one of our BCBAs.

Service programs range from low intensity to high intensity, and may utilize a consultation model, caregiver support model or intensive intervention model:

  • Consultation: Consultation is our lowest intensity model and typically consists of a few monthly sessions with one of our advanced staff in order to maintain progress and address new, minor behavioral issues that may arise.
  • Caregiver Support: Our caregiver support model is integral to all our services and consists of weekly, direct coaching/training sessions with our staff to support parents and other caretakers to utilize behavioral strategies effectively.
  • Intensive Intervention: Our most intensive model consists of direct intervention sessions for 2-3 hours daily with Monarch staff. With our intensive intervention model, caregiver support  hours are embedded into sessions.

Who funds services?

We hold contracts with a variety of agencies who may cover the cost of ABA services for your child:

MediCal/CenCal

Tri-Counties Regional Center (TCRC)

The cost of ABA services are covered by many health insurance plans for children. Most often, health insurance plans will require a qualifying diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Monarch is in-network with the following health insurance plans, and we are actively working to expand our in-network status with many others:

CenCal Health

Blue Cross Blue Shield (Magellan)

Cigna

Anthem

In the event that Monarch is out-of-network with your health insurance plan, we will attempt to request a Single Case Agreement. Without a Single Case Agreement, you will be billed directly for services and you will be responsible for seeking reimbursement from your insurance provider for the ABA services provided by Monarch. We also accept private pay clients for 8-week consultation programs.
