President
Lindsey grew up in San Luis Obispo County and founded Monarch in 2012. Lindsey has been a BCBA since 2009 and has been practicing Applied Behavior Analysis since 2006. Lindsey attended UCSB for her undergraduate degree, where she worked as a Clinician at the Koegel Autism Center, and received training in Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Intervention (NBDI). Lindsey then attended the University of Washington in Seattle for graduate school, where she completed her Practicum at the Haring Center for Research and Training in Inclusive Education. Lindsey served from 2014-2019 on the board of directors for the Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center. Lindsey has also served on the Appeal Review Committee for the Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Lindsey is personally committed to practicing a compassionate behavioral model that prioritizes gentle ABA and celebrates neurodiversity.
Clinical Director
Whitney has been a BCBA with Monarch since 2014. Whitney oversees our day-to-day clinical operations and staffing, and supports programming and clinical service needs. Whitney also coordinates services for incoming clients. Whitney has over a decade of experience in behavioral health, supporting clients and families across settings. Whitney has extensive training in the treatment of severe behavior and a wealth of experience with school based programs, center-based programs, and home programs. Whitney received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from California Polytechnic State University and her Master of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University.
Clinical Coordinator
Sydney coordinates parent participation for all Monarch clients, as well as providing behavior consultation. Sydney began working with Monarch in 2017, as a behavior technician, and in 2020 became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Sydney has a Masters degree in Science, Curriculum and Instruction. She also holds Education Specialist and Multiple Subjects teaching credentials. Additionally, Sydney taught in a Special Education elementary classroom prior to working with Monarch. Sydney has continuously supported some of our most complex and dynamic behavioral programs.
Clinical Coordinator
Caitlin is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst has been an integral part of our behavior intervention team since 2019. Caitlin supports our daily clinical needs at both our intervention centers. Caitlin holds a masters degree in Special Education with an Applied Behavior Analysis emphasis from Arizona State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development from Chico State. As a member of our clinical leadership team, Caitlin is closely involved in the clinical decision making important for the continued quality of our program.
Behavior Consultant
Ashley is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has a masters degree in Special Education with an Applied Behavior Analysis emphasis from Arizona State University. A main focus of Ashley's is parent/caregiver support. Prior to becoming a BCBA, Ashley was an Associate Behavior Consultant for Monarch, working closely alongside our Behavior Consultants. In her years at Monarch, Ashley has directly supported some of our more complex behavioral programs.
Behavior Consultant
Madison is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and has been with Monarch since 2021. In her years at Monarch, Madison has been an RBT, Associate Clinical Reviewer, and Associate Behavior Consultant, providing direct behavioral support and working closely with caregivers to support clients across settings. Madison also works closely with our billing manager and clinical leadership team to ensure that services are funded and authorized. Madison enjoys working with clients of all ages, but especially enjoys supporting teenage and young adult clients.
Associate Behavior Consultant
Sutten is currently working toward completing her national certification as a behavior analyst and is also a Registered Behavior Technician. Sutten received her masters degree from Arizona State University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno. Sutten supports our programs in both a direct role, as well as contributing to staff training, program development, and parent participation. Prior to working for Monarch, Sutten was a preschool teacher and has years of experience working with young learners.
Site Facilitator and Lead RBT
Keara supports all things Monarch and on a daily basis keeps both centers organized, running smoothly, and staffed. Keara is a registered behavior technician and regularly covers staffing needs as they arrive, which allows her to build relationships with all our clients. She has been with Monarch since 2018. Keara is able to support program development needs and also provides caregiver support/training for our families.
Lead RBT
Kendal is a Registered Behavior Technician and has been with Monarch since 2023. Kendal has a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Kendal is a central coast native and is so happy to be back living and working in San Luis Obispo County. While at Monarch, Kendal has worked with an array of clients providing compassionate ABA therapy. Kendal promotes open communication with families, building relationships that encourage client growth.
Lead RBT
Avery is a lead registered behavior technician and helps support many of our programs. Avery completed her senior internship with Monarch and recently graduated from Cal Poly with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Avery is currently enrolled in graduate school and is working toward continuing her career with neurodivergent children.
Billing Manager
Nancy has lived on the Central Coast since 1996. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education. Nancy has extensive experience as a Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant. She supports all the administrative needs of the Monarch team and oversees billing and authorization needs with insurance plans. Nancy has been a proud team member at Monarch since 2017.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Wendy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience working with children, families, and couples.
